Remote Desktop Connection quick Guide

In Windows 7 (as well as previous versions of Windows since XP) has the ability to work on your computer remotely using the service running terminal connections. 4. Click on Apply.

5. Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Remote Desktop Connection
NOTE: You could also press the “Windows + R” keys to open the Run dialog, type mstsc.exe, and press Enter.

6. Enter the Computer Name or IP address of the computer you wish to connect to.

7. For more connection options, click on Options
NOTE: Here you can save the connection profile, adjust display properties, run specified programs upon connection, adjust connection bandwidth, etc. For more information on specific tabs, click on Help.

A few words about bookmarks:

General. You can specify the name and address of the connection, as well as save the settings as a file. In the latter case, you do not have to run every time the program will be enough to run the saved file with all the settings.

In the tab “Advanced“, you can set profiles for connections and manually adjust the visual effects available to you after the connection.

In the tab “Connection” you can change your notification settings, and security.

8. Click on Connect.

9. Enter your log in credentials of a user account on the remote computer that is allowed to do a remote desktop connection.
